Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Aura mobile application ("App") operated by Aura ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Aura. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts of users who we reasonably believe to be under 18.

2. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using a valid email address or phone number. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You may not create an account on behalf of another person or use a false identity.

3. Community Guidelines and Acceptable Use

You agree not to post, submit, or transmit any content that:

• Is illegal, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or harassing.
• Contains nudity, sexual content, or explicit imagery (unless explicitly permitted in future categories).
• Violates the intellectual property rights of others.
• Contains personal information of others without their consent (e.g., doxxing).
• Constitutes spam, phishing, or unsolicited advertising.
• Is designed to deceive, manipulate, or defraud other users.
• Targets individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate accounts of repeat violators.

4. Ratings and Anonymity

All ratings and comments submitted through the App are anonymous to the post owner. You agree to:

• Rate and comment in good faith, offering genuine feedback.
• Not use the rating or comment system to target, harass, or bully specific individuals.
• Not attempt to de-anonymise raters or manipulate the rating system.

5. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain ownership of the photos and content you post. By posting content on Aura, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of operating the service.

Our content: The App, its design, branding, features, and all content we create are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without our express written permission.

6. In-App Purchases and Unlock Tokens

• Unlock tokens are a virtual currency used within the App to reveal comments on your posts.
• All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or App Store policies.
• Tokens have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts or exchanged for real money.
• We reserve the right to modify the price, availability, or functionality of unlock tokens at any time.
• Subscriptions (if offered) will auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

7. Referral Program

We may offer a referral programme that awards free unlock tokens for inviting new users. We reserve the right to modify, pause, or terminate the referral programme at any time. Referral rewards are only granted for genuine new user sign-ups and may be revoked if we detect abuse or fraud.

8. Content Moderation

We use automated systems and human review to moderate content. We may remove content and suspend accounts at our discretion if we determine they violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Moderation decisions are final, though you may contact us to appeal a decision.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

• The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content on the App.
• The App being free from errors, bugs, or interruptions.
• The suitability of the App for any particular purpose.

Ratings and comments represent the opinions of individual users and do not reflect the views of Aura.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the six months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aura, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) content you post; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of another party.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 5, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Aura is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
